A structured abstract is preferred for empirical studies (i.e. Objective, Methods, Findings and Conclusions). For abstracts discussing methods, policy, ethics or social issues, an unstructured format is acceptable.

Guidelines for writing your Abstract

Standard accepted abbreviations such as CXR, ECG, p-value <0.05 can be used.

There is no reason to mention IRB acceptance as this is presumed.

Do not add in tables, illustrations or diagrams in the abstract. These can be added in the poster or oral presentation.
